Forget the traditional café setup. At our Cake Canteen locations, there’s no fixed menu. Instead, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful cake counter showcasing an ever-changing selection of showstopping cakes. From exciting new creations to beloved classics like our famous rainbow cake, there’s always something worth indulging in baked and made by only the best cakeries and chefs. Curated by Jandri van Zyl, founder of The Velvet Cake Co., Cake Canteen, and Cart Cart.
Slices start from R89 and are available for sit-down or takeaway. You’ll also find freshly baked croissants, quiches, muffins, and other savoury treats. Our cake fridge is packed with favourites like the popular Lunchbox Mini Cakes, cupcakes, chocolate bonbons, and more.

Our Fourways café brings Cake Canteen to Joburg’s northern suburbs in style! The cake counter is loaded with over 15 rotating flavours, from nostalgic favourites to “wait, I need that” new creations. Tall layers. Delicious frosting. And big cake energy.
Add buttery croissants, savoury bites (for balance, obviously), and a fridge full of mini cakes and take-home treats… and suddenly restraint feels overrated.

Located in the heart of Joburg’s design district, Cake canteen Kramerville is bold, inspiring, and never boring — just like our cake counter. This is where cake becomes part of the creative conversation — the ideal stop between fabric swatches, client chats, and “quick” coffee meetings that turn into two-hour catch-ups.
